NATALIA KANIASTY - WRITER/DIRECTOR

Natalia grew up outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the small college town of Indiana, famous for being the birthplace of Jimmy Stewart. Raised by Polish emigrants, her life has continually straddled two differing, yet at times strangely similar worlds in America and Poland. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts Filmmaking program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Natalia enjoys exploring human themes that bridge the gap between different cultures, and in her case, the two places she calls home.

ERIC COHEN - PRODUCER 

Eric is a Princeton graduate and former Microsoft engineer who is currently pursuing a dual MBA/MFA degree in business and film at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and Stern School of Business. He has produced numerous shorts and music videos, as well as TV and digital content. His films have screened in Europe and the US, including one that won an award from Guillermo del Toro at the Sci-Fi London film festival. He founded his own production company, Uncompromising Films, in 2013 and works with LA based OBB Pictures as President of Production.

LARA SFIRE - PRODUCER/AD

Lara grew up in Detroit, studying theatre and photography in Europe and the United States. She has been a union gaffer in NY films and television, directed and produced short films, Associate Produced a feature, founded Spitfire Productions, and is currently in development for TheDis/Articulation of Sarah Danner, her feature directorial debut. She is currently an MFA candidate at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

FEDERICO CESCA - CINEMATOGRAPHER

Originally from Argentina, Federico studied music, architecture and aesthetics before working in film. He has completed New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film program. His work has played in various film festivals, including, Cannes, Sundance, Venice Biennale and Berlinale. He was awarded the 2014 ARRI-CSC Volker Bahnemann Award for Cinematography.

PATRICK BURGESS - SOUND DESIGNER

Patrick is a sound designer living in Philadelphia, working in and around New York City. He began his filmmaking career at a young age, making short films with friends throughout his teenage years. After high school he went on to study film at New York University, earning a B.F.A from the Tisch School of the Arts while also minoring in Physics. Patrick works both in production and post-production sound. He has sound edited and designed several short and feature length films, as well as commercials and television.

MIA MIKOWICZ - PRODUCTION DESIGNER

Mia was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA where she studied painting and set design. After receiving her BFA in Film from the Art Institute of Portland, she returned to the Bay Area to become a regular day player for the Art Department at Indigo Films. In 2013, Mia moved to New York where she has designed sets for many short films and also worked in production for television and branded content.  She is a musician, a writer, LGBTQIA rights activist and a proud transwoman.

MAGGIE GLASS - COSTUME/MAKE UP DESIGNER

Maggie grew up in the small town of Bedford, PA and graduate from IndiUniversity of Pennsylvania. She recently relocated to New York to follow her dreams to work on Broadway. She is currently working at the Signature Theater as the Wardrobe Supervisor for Athol Fugard’s new play The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek, and previously worked with them on Big Love and Our Lady of Kibeho. The past two summers Maggie has served as Wardrobe Head and Dresser at the Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY. This is Maggie’s first experience with film and is happy to be a part of such a wonderful and meaningful piece.

ASHISH RAVINRAN - SCRIPT SUPERVISOR

Ashish is a 25 year-old filmmaker, born and brought up mostly in Singapore. He realized he wanted to make movies during his two years of compulsory military service in Singapore. After finishing his undergraduate degree in History at Oxford University, he moved to New York City and enrolled in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program where he is focusing on writing, directing and editing. His last two short films were about: a conflicted FBI informant leading a plot to bomb the Federal Reserve building; and a battle of religions played out during a 7-year-old boy's baptism.
